Originating in Ireland (but a favorite throughout the world), this popular melody has been combined with dozens of lyrics, but it will always be recognized as "O Danny Boy." With this four-hand piano arrangement, I've tried to communicate the recent lyrics of contemporary hymn writer Kristyn Getty, where she expresses gratitude for God's grace in our daily lives. Getty's words, "What Grace Is Mine," fit perfectly with the melody's familiar, opening phrase. This arrangement begins with a reflective feel, moves into a more dynamic middle section with hints of an Irish whistle & fiddle, and then returns to a feeling of peaceful thanksgiving.
