In this arrangement, I've intermingled "Scarborough Fair" with Welsh composer Joseph Parry's melody ABERYSTWYTH, which is best known for its pairing with Charles Wesley's hymn, "Jesus, Lover of My Soul." Parry's minor, hymn tune has always been a personal favorite, and I felt that both of these mournful melodies intertwine beautifully and so passionately communicate Wesley's words.

I've intentionally used the style of the great Romantic composers, like Liszt and Chopin, because their music employs the artistic freedom and unrestrainted emotion that I want to convey. Extreme dynamics & tempi, sixteenth note scales, and octave runs all contribute to the virtuosic and "rhapsody-like" quality of this arrangement. What an emotional release to play!
