In this setting, I've taken another Celtic tune, "Ash Grove," and woven it into Bach's well-known composition. At times, the two songs seem to meld into one, as their melody lines overlap and complement one another. I've used the pedal sparingly to give the piece that Baroque, harpsichord feel; however, I've also tried to keep the melody line connected as if a violin were playing it. Bach's original intention with his Italian Concerto was to give the impression that this was an orchestral group accompanying a solo instrument.
